Default My first Electric plane

Hi All

I just bought my first electric plane ( E-flite Ultimate 20-300 10 ARF ) and the smallest plane to date !

I should have it some time next week.

I hope I made a good choice ! I read some good reviews about it, so I thought I would give it a try.

Anyone here have one ? If so please tell what you think.

Steve

I don't have this, but I have owned other Eflite products and I have been very happy with them. I think you will love electric as well. Let us know what you think of it after you get it in the air.

Hey derek2005

Thanks for letting me know your happy with Eflite products. I usually will only buy a plane if I have seen in flight at the field .

None of the guy's I fly with are into electric, I'm going to be the only one !

I will post pic's of the build when the Ultimate arrives!

As an idle thought, asking this question before you bought the airplane might be of more value. Norm

I did ask a few people from another site where I first was the plane, I mostly good reports about the plane.

I just wanted some input from people on RCU !

Well I will just have to see for my self when I get it in the air.

Have you ever flown an Ultimate of any kind?.....Ultimates, by nature, have their own set of issues and the smaller they are to more pronounced those issues are...Pat

Hi Pat

Yes, I have been flying DP Ultimate 120 for 10 years with over 450 flights . Not to many issues with the 120.

I did fly a 40 size Ultimate was very touchy, but was way to tail heavy, once fixed it was a great plane to fly.

Thanks,
Steve

Cool. Then I think you'll be happy with the E-Flight bird. Many people don't understand the stall and snap charicteristics of Ultimates and therefore are disappointed when their first flights end in diaster

I've flown planes off and on for the past 15 years but was never that hooked until I tried brushless electric. After I converted my Sonic 25 to electric, my nitro heli and 1/8th scale buggy (that previously occupied 90% of my RC time) are now sitting on a shelf collecting dust. If you're at all like me you'll love electric flight!

Ultimate arrived today, motor was on back order so I waited for shipping.

Looked over everything and looks great, very well made.
Now to start building this weekend .

I will take pic's of the build. Looks like it will be fun to fly.

I had the red foam version that E-Flite had prior to this Ultimate. It was nice and stable in low rates, and a total 3D animal in high rates. If this is anything like the old version, you'll love it.
