Scratch-built 25 size Sportster like plane.
My friend and I like the EP Sportster that he has so we thought we would scratch-build something similar.
First we ordered a box of balsa from http://www.solarbo.com/ which is a new supplier to us, my understanding is most their business was supplying Chinese Arf builders. The balsa looks pretty good to us and the service was quick.
We then went to HomeDepot and got some blue foam to cut cores from.
These are the pictures of what we've got done so far...
The first picture is my foam cutting set-up.
The second is the core as the top is taken off. We are using a symmetrical airfoil.
The next two are pictures of the fuse and tail-feathers.

RE: Scratch-built 25 size Sportster like plane.
I think I'm going to use a 883kv motor it's good for 45amps, but my friend has one in his GP Sportser 25 and with a 4 cell he is pulling about 26 amps or about 300 watts it's over powered at full throttle. I'm going to be using 3 cells so I'll have less power, but still ample. I'm rethinking the foam cores being fully sheeted, the seem a little heavy. I got side tracked with family stuff and this.....

Soarrich,
I noticed your post of one certain Facetmobile Lifting Body model.
Here is a few pictures of Rodney's Facetmobile RC Lifting Body flying model!
Rodney goes by the same handle here and at RCG's!
Okay a few pictures!
Rodney's Facetmobile is powered by the E-Flite 400 inrunner and swinging the Park Zone 9.5 X 7.5 Propeller with 3-Cell, 1300mAH, Li-POLYs.
Rodney and his smaller version Facetmobile, he does have a larger one!
