Texas R/C Planes/Bucker Jungmann

Here's some info. and pics of the Jungmann, so far 20 great flights with no trim required. The plane has excellent flight characteristics, can fly very slow with no bad stall tendencies, mild aerobatics and use of rudder for nice turns, lands like a cub.

Some details: Weight with battery: 80 oz/5 lbs. Power set up: Motor:E-flite power 32, ESC: 60 amp Exceed RC, Top flite P/P 13x6 prop. Battery: Hyperion 4S/2500mah/25C Performance: 50 amps @ 750 watts aprox. Radio gear: Spektrum 7ch.,receiver batt. 2S/800mah/15C with castle regulator and separate switch. Servos: Elev/Rud/ Std/Futaba 3004/40 oz. BB, Ailerons/ mini/Corona 939/35 oz. dig./ Metal gear/BB.

Mods: 1. 3.5 in.Dave Brown lite flight wheels, 2. Sullivan spring tail wheel, 3. Upper aileron pushrods with solder clevises at one end and adjustable at other. 4. Large area metals washers bonded to upper wing at cabane attach points. 5. Air exhaust bottom aft fuselage.

Model setup: Perfect as manufactured, Bottom wing/0 deg. Top wing/-1 deg. Stab/+1 deg. Motor 1 deg. down, 2 deg. right. Problems/Fixes: 1. Landing gear covers required aprox. 1/8 in. bevel at top outb. plate to get a little clearance from lower wing surface. 2. Upper wing cabanes required a little tweaking and 2 shim washers for perfect alignment with bottom wing. 3. Fuselage servo tray had a little fwd/aft flex when tail servos where moved, glued 1/4 in spruce stick across fuselage to top of tray and fwd and aft fuselage formers.

Conclusion: Overall the plane is very well built and finished, all parts were straight, no warps noticed. It does requires a level of expertise to properly setup, not a beginners plane, easy for a experienced modeler.

Excellent!!, Thanks, Allen / Belews Creek, NC

The text above has been updated from comments posted on Texas R/C planes site, due to prop change,
plane performs better with Top flite prop, especially in slow flight.

I have the yellow one and agree, it's a real good airplane.

I just got one and don't see where the upper supports mount to the top wing, the directions indicate using same screws as the lower,(no detail on instructions) but looks like there are no blind nuts in the top wing? Did you center it up and mount with wood screws?

I wondered the same thing at first. They hide the pilot drilled holes under the covering. Feel around and or look closely in the area they should be and you should find them. Enjoy the plane!
