Default KV's ?s



ok im looking to build an edf can anyone tell my how the kv's on a batteries to the kv's on the motor?

Reg ... its like this:

Battery ... concern is how many cells (S), what capacity (mAh) and discharge rate (C).

Motor ... look at the diameter and lenght along with the KV. KV means basically how many RPM per volt. So now is the fun part ... the bigger the motor, generally the lower the KV. Generally, if you want to use EDF/Speed, you want high KV. If you want to use less cells, you need higher KV, if you got higher cell count pack for a so called smaller motor, then you want to run lower KV or smaller prop. This is a mere general rule only.

EDF ... depends on your fan size there is a baseline to work with. So why not let us know what motor and what sort of plane and what are your expectations. A scale U2 and a speeding F5E will not have the same set up even if the fan size is the same. Hope this helps.
