Default electric setup



Hi, im quite new to electric planes and just built my first one from scratch, but a problem came up when I came to connect my lipo to the esc, brushed motor and receiver as I had a massive shortage in the wirings> was wondering if any one can help pls as I have no clue what went wrong.

im afraid mot at the moment. what i am using is an electrifly 370 brushed motor and an electrifly c12 esc with bec. i bought them as a combo.

all i did i solder one end on a deans connector and the other end (one entering battery) on a jst connection.

yes the diagram definately helps and confirms that i connected them right. found what the problem was finally as I was using a smaller grade of wire which melted off and caused a short-circuit. Problem is, is it normal that the esc gets so hot. This did not work well anyway as it was already partially burnt, and totally fried off second time I tried it.

It is NOT normal for the ESC to get so hot that it destroys itself. An ESC will often get warm, but if parts of the ESC are burning or melting, something is definitely wrong.

If the ESC is getting that hot, it indicates that the ESC is being asked to pass more current than it is designed to pass. This usually means the motor is too large for the ESC or that you are using a prop that is too large. In general, the larger the prop, the more current the power system will draw. Too much current will result in something overheating, either the motor, the ESC, the battery, or all of them.

how many servos were you using?
which servos?
what prop?
