Guys, I have another question.

I'm not sure if you guys in the US will be able to help here but here gose.

I have a couple of GWS planes and fly with the GWS 4ch rx. Somedays I have no problems. Other days I have Loads! Typicaly full down, full left and full power...

So I want to put another RX in the E-starter which is big enough for a normal RX. What do I get? What are you guys using? I don't have a load of cash, but if don't do something soon I'll need to buy shares in Epoxy!

I have found "Futaba RC Receiver R136 6CH" of £25 about $40 but can't find any info about it. Can someone shed light on this?

I stopped buying GWS receivers after getting intermittent range problems.

I use a Jeti Rex 5 in my park flyers, although I'm told it is a full range receiver.

Takes Futaba crystals and you can buy them at Als Hobbies for about £30.

I have had good results with the Hitec 555 (but then again, I have a GWS pico or naro in a Rare Bear that's also working good for me!)

When my planes started doing this it turned out to be the radio. I had cracked my circuit board and was getting intermittent loss of signal. Have you checked yours?

IMO the 2 best rx's for our smaller electric parkflyers is the Hitec 555 (not the feather), and the Berg line of rx's. You can find the Berg at Aero Micro, and I believe they do ship to the UK.

are they compantable with normal TX??

For park flyer sized rx's I have heard that you can't beat the Berg's and FMA's. If something a little bigger is still ok, I like the 555's and Electron 6's. I have also used the JR 610M, but thats not usable for Futaba tx's. My GWS's are working fine so far, and I have changed the antenna's to Azarr M-72L's and seemed that some of the glitching stopped.

The receivers we know as the Bergs here in the US and the receivers known as the Schulze Alphas in Europe are VERY closely related. So, for what others have said about Berg, read Schulze. I would not hesitate to use one in ANY sized model.

Futaba and Hitec equipment will communicate, but as I recall Futaba will only use Futaba crystals and vice versa. Cheers.

Correct, Earthdrill.

Use Futaba crystals in Futaba receivers. Use Hitec crystals in Hitec receivers.

I'm not sure where people come up with the notion, "Hmm, if I have a Hitec transmitter, then I must use a Hitec crystal in my Futaba receiver?" Doesn't work that way. The crystal controls the frequency, nothing more. It has no bearing on the "language" spoken by the transmitter and heard by the receiver. That's all controlled by internal electronic components that you can't change.

the r1356 is a single conversion Rx and will need a single conversion Crystal but futaba is leary of giving advice as they don't import it to US

r136 made in 35, 40 and 72 MHZ so many freqencies are available your must say 72 Mhz to have a chance of working on a 72 Mhz radio
