Default JR XP6102 battery conversion.

Has anyone converted their JR transmitter from old NiCad to LiPo battery?

Out of curiosity, why would you want to do that? I have the same tx and thought about upgrading to NiMH but not Lipo. I cannot see the reason for this.

I fly a LiPo transmitter battery and only charge that battery about once a month or less. the only disadvantage is if you leave your transmitter on you will cook the battery by overdischarging it. I have been using a LiPo tranmitter battery for 2 seasons now with no problems.

Thanks. I have used an E-flite 1000mAh lipo that the use in the SR heli. Plugs right in and works great. Lasts a lot longer that the original NiCad. Have to take out to charge up but that is easy to do. Charges in 40 minutes as well.

Will you lose setting of planes stored and memory if you disconnet the Tx Battery?

Get yourself a 8 cell 2500 Mah pack. Fits easy, lasts for a l-o-n-g time between charges.
