Quadcopter control idea?
This is my first post. If I am in the wrong area, please guide me.
I have a flying quadcopter using a OpenPilot CC3D controller and all is OK. I want to add the ability for other functions like altitude hold and following waypoints. To do this I must add a magnetometer, a barometer, and a GPS. I presently have a Raspberry PI computer. I am thinking that I can set up my receiver and controller in PPM mode, and then intercept the signal with my PI to implement other specialized functions. This way the wiring will be simple, and the basic operation of stability would not be affected.
Once I get my copter in the air, I could switch to programmed mode and the Pi will then control the copter.
I can easily remove the Pi, by simply moving two wires (on the ground of course) , and be back to normal manual control
Comments??
