Need advice on electrical set up
Hi,
I'm currently studying the possibility of building an electrical RC plane. I'm thinking about building it on balsa wood with about 40 inches wingspan.
It will maybe weight 3 pounds with the electrical components on it, not exactly sure...
I need advice on the components I should use. I want to get the components and estimate the price before building the model. I want to build this on the cheap, I don't care if the components will not last much. I just want to fly the thing at least once.
After reading thru posts on this forum and a few internet articles, I reached to this components:
Motor, 1400Kv, 205w
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ess_Motor.html
ESC: 40amp
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...BEC_2_4S_.html
(not sure if this one includes a BEC, but I would like to fit one)
Servos

Propeller
7x4
Batteries:
Have no idea!! Don't want to burn all of this up!
What do you guys make of this?
Maybe I got everything wrong, starting with my estimated model weight...

Ya did fine.
205 watts is adequate for a 3 pound plane. Many people would target about 100 watts/pound but your set-up will be about 70/pound and that if fine.
For the set-up you have selected you would want a 3S lipo pack, 11.1V of at least 2000 mah and at least 15C rating. rating.

Thanks!
Did you write that? I really admire people that take their time and effort just to help others.
