Default D/r and expo setting whats the best setting for a newbe

You will get lots of different answers to your question as the correct answer is difficult to give unless one knows a lot about the plane, electronics brand and the individuals capability. In general, set up the initial throws just as the instructions say (most planes come with recommended throws). I personally like about 30% expo, maybe more on elevator. On dual rates, hard to say but a good starting point is about 70% of recommended full throw. If at all possible, get an experienced flyer to do the first flights on your plane and then tailor the throws as he/she recommends. If you are new and this is your first plane, you are almost guaranteed to crash on your first flight if you do not have an experienced flyer to help you get started.

They are both personal settings based on the pilot and the model but Rodney gave you a great starting point.
