Default What is a good .40 size electric sport plane?

After several years off I am returning to the hobby. Previously I had decades of experience including 480 size electric planes and helis, also gas and glo. I am looking for an electric plane slightly larger than a Pulse 15 like the pulse 40 but the kit appears to be an old design. Maybe you fellows could suggest a sport plane/motor combo using 5s 4000 mAh batts. that would be easier for me to see than the 480 size planes and better suited to a grass field.
Thanks!

Pretty much any 46 sized glow plane would fly well on a 5s battery.

Motor I run a 12x6 to 13x6 APC "E" prop

Thanks Buzz.

I was hoping to find a 40 size ARF intended for glow or electric like the Hanger 9 Pulse XT which appears to be out of production and have an inadequately sized battery compartment. I was an expert builder but now can manage little other than a full time job. Just got old.

Well this one is sort of like a Pulse. Well if you squint, stand way off while you have sand in your eyes.

HI guys,

Go to Tower Hobbies and look at the Phoenix Models offerings. The Tiger is an especially good value of a sport aircraft for either 4S or 5S.

Check out the ARFs available from Sig like the Four Star 54, the T Clips, Seniorita Sport, and the new Rascal 80. Sig also distributes Seagull Models ARFs and they have several airplanes that would fit your request. Go to www.sigmfg.com.

I have a GP Escapade MX. It has a mid wing and is a great plane to fly. Its listed on Tower Hobbies website and is sold in various hobby stores.

GET YOURSELF THE PULSE 40 AIRCRAFT.
PURCHASE A FIREPOWER 60 SIZE MOTOR AND A 80A SKYPOWER ESC FROM HEADS UP RC.
YOUR 5S 4000mAh WILL WORK GREAT.
TRY A 16X8 E PROP ALSO FROM HEADSUP RC.

GO HAVE SOME FUN.

If you can't find a pulse just get a 40 size stick and you will love it. I just built one with that motor set up and he loves it.
