best book for electric flight et al
Electric flight is really great for all the right reasons. I have a zagi, and a couple of anemic electric airplanes to compliment a stable of engine driven airplanes.
I know there is still a lot to learn about electric:
- batteries: NiCad vs. Nimh
- props and gearing
- cycling batteries
- the number of winds of wire on a motor
- brushless vs regular can motors
and there are other things that I hope to learn more about.
Question:
what is the best (or a good) book to have for better understanding electric flight?
thanks!

Sorry about the commercial, but you might want to take a look at the "Techniques" section of our web site. Here's a link to it...

Wannyflymore,
Another very good piece of reading material can be found @ www.astroflight.com. The Bob Boucher's Electric Motor Handbook contains a wealth of information on all aspects of electric powered flight.
Please let me know if you need any other in assistance. I'd be happy to help!! Jim Gressel

Bokks for electric flying
Another excellent book is by Harry Higley called Entering Electrics.
I highly recomend it to anyone.
The Book by Astro Bob may be too intense and complex for the newbie. While Entering Electrics starts the newbie from the biginning. It has a lot of tips including building the right way and really has a great deal of very helpful info about electric flight.
Harry always includes lots of photos in his books which helps to explain what is being done. For 15.00 you really can't go wrong.
Just my 2 cents worth. jollyroger

Everything I learned about electrics, I got from the internet. I have posted every good link I used on my website:

If you have any questions about batteries, don't hesitate to email me directly at:

Good luck,
