Default Convert a Bird of Time to electric

I am totally new to electric flying. I have a kit built Bird of Time sailplane, which because of 73 year old knees it's getting harder to chase the high start anymore, have been thinking about converting it to electric. Would really appreciate any help and advice on making this conversion. Thanks

Default RE: Convert a Bird of Time to electric

The easy way would be to get a GD600 gear box running 3.5:1 ratio, APC "E" 12x6 prop, 50amp ESC, 6 to 10 2400 mah nicds. With this power setup you should get 3 climbs before you need to charge the battery. If money is not a problem you can go brushless and lipoly batterys.

Dru.

P.S. you can get all of the parts from www.Towerhobbies.com
