EASY TRIM ON FIREBIRD XL
Tonite while flying the XL It flew great, but glided to the left. I know it needs the prop blowing over the Flight Track System for it to function BUT......... Field adjustments could be made for testing its glide, or flight performance like this:
Each control horn has a Nylon line attached, and a rubber tube covering it.
How about sliding the rubber tube down to the control surface, then connecting the nylon line to the hole closest to the control surface, letting it just a little loose. Then secure the line by weaving it through the other holes to the top. The control line is still a little loose, but now slide the rubber tube up untill you have the exact adjustment you want on that surface (There are two of them remember) and then repeat the sequence on the other tail surface. THEN those tubes could be slid up or down untill just the right tension is on the line to trim that tail surface into a cool position! Do you like the idea?

EASY TRIM ON FIREBIRD XL
OK, I'll answer my own post! This morning I flew the XL, with 3 or 4 full-stop landings to re-adjust the controls like I described. Finally It practically flew itself! T H E N I put the 7-cell pack I made into it, and
PRESTO! It flew just as well, except F A S T E R ! Weight went from 15 7/8 oz. up to 16 1/2 oz. I could see no change in the CG, just as I was advised by another XL pilot in this forum! THANKS!
