Just getting started... which connectors do you use? Astroflight? Andersen?

I like the Deans Ultra's. They're the red ~1/2" sq. with the 2 flat
blades 90 deg. to each other. A couple of batteries I got in trades
had green colored connectors that I've seen car boys use, but I
don't know the brand name. As long as they have a large contact
area to cut down on the power loss.

No easy answers and to some extent it depends what you are going to fly. I use Powerpoles for most things S400 and above. For smaller stuff I usually use JST/BEC connectors.

If I was starting again (i.e. didn't already have loads of Powerpoles) I think I'd probably use the much neater 2 and 4mm gold connectors though they are not polarised which can be a worry.

Default connectors

I use Deans Ultra's, they are small, make a good connection, and are easy to solder.

I am using gold bullet connectors from Dymond models. They make a good connection and they are easy to install. I just crimp them tight with a cable crimper. They run $4.00 for set of 10 pair
