If this is any help, one of my fellow club member recently covered his .40 size GLOW Extra with Solite!!! I am not sure if it will hold up well in the long run; but as of right now, it has about 20 flights on it and going strong! The only area he is worried about is the exhaust on the Solite. He cleans it THROUGHLY after every flight. i am also not sure how much weight he has saved, but the airplane flies beautifully!!!!
Just my thoughts,
Reg

RE: Covering with Solite
When you get over 2 lbs. the small weight savings for using Solite is not worth the decreased strength, and increased difficulty in using it IMO. Compared to Ultracote or even Monokote it is more difficult to use due to the tendency for it to stick to itself, and rip if it encounters any sharp edges.
