wattage extra 300 ?????
well i just ordered a wattage extra 300 and i notice that it comes with a small 180 motor, do you know of any motors i could replace it with. i was lookin at a team-orion micro modified motor but i relized i couldnt put the press on prop on because that shaft is probly a different size. or was this a really bad investment.

RE: wattage extra 300 ?????
The size of the motor has nothing to do with how the plane is going to fly. If the power system is well thought out, the plane will fly great even though it only has a "wimpy" 180. Fly it first, then decide what it needs.
Besides, just changing the motor doesn't usually work. Any one of these things can happen:
1. You'll get the desired power increase with no ill effects (rare).
2. You'll get a power increase, draw too many Amps, and burn out the motor, speed control, and/or battery.
3. You'll actually get a power DECREASE, because the physically larger motor does not spin as fast on the same voltage.
I use the Wattage 180 motor in my Micro RS4. They call them "cheater" motors, because they're hotter than the stock "180" Micro motors. In fact, they spin just as fast as the modified motors, so switching to something like the 45T won't gain you anything but a little weight.

RE: wattage extra 300 ?????
just like mat said fly it see how it handles and if u do not like how it handles maybe u should take a trip to the rcuniverse marketplace and strike a deal on something like an aerobird extreme which has a 540 i believe...
