Are these Kokams enough for my use ?
im thinking about ordering the following Kokam packs which are on sale: 3 Cell Li-po 600 Mah capable of 5C.
i was wondering :
i see they are rated at 5C, that means a 600 Mah pack can deliver 3A, and im not sure if its up to par with my gear. im using an AXI 2208 brushless \ Jeti 08 speed control, with a 10 x 4.7 Prop on a 3D airplane:
1. how can i know if 3A is enough ?
2. what happens if i fly with this batt and the motor draws more then 3A ?
waiting for your quick reply, since i would like to order soon,
thanks.

Hi,
One way is to look at the sample AXI 2208 data on the [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless_axi.htm]Hobby Lobby[/link] site.
A 3-cell Lithium pack voltage with a 10x4.7 prop draws close to 10amps on the 2208/34 wind and is not recommended for the other two winds.
I would use either the [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/kokam.htm]Kokam[/link] 1500mAh cells or the [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/thunderpower.htm]ThunderPower[/link] 1300mAh cells.

What happens when you try to hang 20 pounds from a rope that's rated to hold 10 pounds? Yep, it breaks.
That's what'll happen if you try to draw 10 Amps from a pack that's rated for 3 Amps. It'll work exactly once, and then your signifigant investment in LiPoly cells will be a smouldering heap of junk.
In the early days of LiPoly technology, it was very common to connect several identical packs in parallel to combine their current carrying capabilities and run larger motor systems. In your case, about three of the 600mAh packs in parallel would do the trick, but a single 1500mAh Kokam Lipoly would be cheaper overall.
