****Thrust 10 oz Questions *****
What does Thrust 10 oz mean? I want to buy four 400's v6 motors for my C-130, propeller size is 6x4. The 400 v6 has 10 oz thrust.
Do you think this setup will work with the C-130?

Thanks
Bob

To tell you the truth, it doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot... The combination produces 10 ounces of thrust. All that means is you can lift roughly 6 to 7 ounces straight up. Doesn't tell you anything about how the plane will fly, or if it will fly.
This 10 ounces of thrust could be produced with a pitch speed of 1MPH, 100MPH, or anywhere in between. If, for example your plane is a slow flyer that maxxes out at 20MPH, you don't need a power system that can move the plane at 100MPH. On the other hand, if you have a 6 ounce plane with a stall speed of 20MPH, and you use a system that produces 10 ounces of thrust at 15MPH, the plane won't fly. It'll go straight up, and hover, but that's about it.
Sure, these motors will work on that C130, but not because they produce 10 ounces of thrust. The Speed 400 produces that 10 ounces of thrust at a moderate speed, and puts more Watts to the prop than the recommended 300 motors

The plane is supposed to fly on four 280 motors spinning 5x4.5 props on 7 cells. Four 400 motors spinning 6x4 props on 8 cells is a tremendously more powerful combination. Your only worry should be weight, because you'll need a much heavier battery to satisfy the much higher current draw of the four 400 motors.
