Triton Charger and Lipos
I am in the market for a Triton Charger.
I have read some place way back the some older tritons have problems with lipos
Also a Flyer at our field said the same thing.
Do any one know if this is true ?. Is so, when were the tritons corrected for this.
Is there anything on the new ones to indicate if has been corrected ?
Thanks in advance
Fred..

RE: Triton Charger and Lipos
I have had no problems with my Triton charger and lipo batteries. If you would have problems Tower Hobbies stands behind their product. I personally listen to very few people at the field, we have one guy that has been dispensing info for years and I have never seen him fly! Ther may be better lipo chargers such as the Astroflight or Kokam but they are single use lipo only. The Triton is a great all around charger.

RE: Triton Charger and Lipos
what you heard related to charging a lipo from a memory position, and it has been fixed at least 1.5 years ago, maybe longer... you could send it in for a free firmware update to fix it, or just not charge lipos from memory. (mine isn't affected, but i still have never charged a lipo from memory anyway)
the other big problem people seem to have is to use pigtails of poor quality. when you charge lipos, the quality of the connectors and wiring is very important, otherwise it won't ever reach full output.

RE: Triton Charger and Lipos
I have a Triton and an Astro Flight charger and they both work great .
The Triton will charge just about anything and is limited on lipo's as
to charging very large cells in series . So if you are going with big
planes you might want an Astro . But I like my Triton a lot .
