Default How is this for my first electric ?

Well I finally found an electric which I like
GP SuperSporster EP
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHMY7&P=0

I have orded a Kyosho Endoplasma with a GD 600 gear Box and a couple of APC 12X8 's
An of course a 50 mah ESC
According to motocalc this should be fine.

Any comments , suggestions or tips
Thanks in advance
Fred..

O.........K? It's gonna be hard to follow up on that tremendously informative post by GWR, if you know what I mean

Both versions of the Super Sportster EP are new to the market, and if I'm not mistaken, Tower JUST got them in stock within the last month. To top it off, it's winter, building season. I'm gonna have to say that finding flight reports will be a bit tough.

What you have going for you is that the Super Sportster is a time-honored design, not nearly as famous as the likes of the Goldberg Tiger 2, or the Sig 4Star40, and probably a little sportier on the performance side, but the fact that it's been in the Great Planes lineup for so many years speaks volumes. If you're a moderately experienced pilot, I don't think you'll have any trouble flying this plane.

Now, with your power system choices, you left two crucial pieces of information out that could make or break your plane. What gear ratio, and what battery are you planning on using? Right now, you've spec'd the bottom end and a transmission for your hotrod, but there's a big empty hole where the combustion chambers belong...

Thanks for the reply Matt
Yes I was also overloaded with the tremendously informative post by GWR,
First or all I have 15 yrs or R/C planes behind my belt

I bought my plane from the LHS 2 weeks ago ( looks nice )
I am using a GD600 with a 3:1 ratio for a 12X8 prop. I also ordered a 3:8 1 pinion
The batteries I am planning to use are the Sony 2400 7 or 8 cells
Changes or mod's would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first electric.
I have not purchased any batteries yet.

Thanks
Fred..
