Default Firebird Commander Field Size

My friend just bought a Commander and I plan to teach him how to fly it. I have a scout and he has never ever flown before. There is a field close to his house that is an almost perfect square but I'm not sure if it is big enough or not. I guessed/ measured it to be 200ft by 150. Is this a large enough field to begin with? I'll get an accurate measurement on it tomorrow. What size, if you have a commander or ABC, do you fly in?

For a first time flyer...I would think that would be Waaaaay too small.... I would find at least a few acres to start...

less stress for the first timer..... a bit more time to think before you have to turn

The commander manual recommends 600X600, same as the Aerobird. The commander is much faster than the Scout.
