Got Firebird 400 Today Pictures...
Well heres the Firebird 400 I got today. I only paid $47.25 for it but it wasn't even close to what the pictures or the auction said...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1
They advertised it as a 3 channel capable of doing loops and rolls. Its only a 2 channel that looks lie a cross between all of the planes in the Hobbyzone Firebird line. I haven't flown it yet becuase its gonna be 30 degrees with 30 mph winds tomorrow but I'm sure it'll fly fine. I've emailed the guy to see if he'll make good on this. I got a good deal either way. But as we all know theres a huge difference between what they show and what I got. I dig the reinforcement rod in the wing and the tail wheel through. Its on channel 6B, whats the B for?

Correct me if I'm mistaken but I think right/left is one channel and throttle is another, hence 2 channels. A true 3 channel plane should have up/down controls as well for the 3rd channel.

Besides a Firebird XL won't do loops or rolls (unless you are flying it crazy.) I'v edone both with my Commander but it took alot of effort and I only got it to do a loop by throwing it into a death spiral to make it go twice as fast as it was designed for then letting go so it shot straight up then giving it full throttle. Then and only then did it ever loop over.

We must have different planes then.
This is the one I'm referring to...
http://www.otherlandtoys.co.uk/firebirdxl.htm
From that page...
It also features the same super simple 2-channel flight control system that the original Firebird uses.

mart, your plane is different. He got the 400 you have the gold eagle 2xl.(whatever that is) 3 channel planes have up down, left right, and throttle. 2 channel planes have left right, and throttle. By the way you are typing you are kind of sounding like you are on or something. Please make good sentences so that we can understand you.
xray, it looks like you got a cheaper version of the commander. If you want a 3 channel go with the Aerobird Challenger if you really like the Firebird series.

I'm not trying to bash you or get you upset. Glad you didn't take that the wrong way! How does the Eagle fly? Is it stable and all of the other stuff pilots like?

i suspect she flies like all the firebird ,aerobird planes.the wing gives quite good glide and unlike the older ones she doesnt drop out of the sky when you drop the power off.she will actually glide quite well.flies quite stable or as stable as can be expected for such a light plane.even in a bit of wind.the only negative thing i can say is that the undercarriage is (crap),but i never use mine anyway.yer allright mate i didnt take it the wrong way lol.you can actually get a larger wing that makes her fly even faster and more glide so ive heard ,maybe ill invest in one!!!.

I think theres a lot of planes based on the Hobbyzone Firebird Fuselage including the Firebird 400 and Eagle 2XL, almost all of them are made in China. The Firebird 400 I got had the exact same box as the Firebird II except the writing was in Chinese. I'm tempted to try some of the other planes they are selling, this little Firebird 400 is a great 2 channel plane, it glides forever. Its the exact same plane Hobbyzone was selling as the Firebird II. I was talking to a company rep today from Hong Kong. I can get them for $36.95 wholesale but I've gotta buy 6. Would anyone be interested?
