Based on your experience...Any reason I shouldn't go with the following setup?
ALFA P-47D:
Motor: MPjet red outrunner
Battery: TP 3s 2100mah
ESC: CC25
servos: Hitec 55
RX: GWS
thank you

Make sure you pick your prop size to limit the amps to under 25. Be careful of structural limitations with that much power. Reglue the firewall and make sure the pushrods do not have too much flex. Reinforce the center wing joint. Double check the CG.
Hang on for a wild ride.

RE: hey alfa p-47 owners
Is that setup too "HOT" for a first time elec flyer? I've flown gas trainers when I was younger, about 10yrs ago and i'm planning on an alfa as my re-intro to rc. Should I slow that above setup down by just going with a 300 motor? Or can I handle it considering I have some limitied experience, albeit a while ago... just fly at 1/2 throttle?
If I should gear it down - can someone recommend a safer slower setup?
thanks!

I would not consider the Alfa warbirds as trainers or introductory airplanes. I suggest getting the hardware for the alfa (motor, esc, servos, battery) and then finding a foam trainer to get back into the game. After becoming familir with flying again, then maybe a Alfa will survive more than one short flight.

i was simply asking was that too much motor for THAT plane, and would make it fly faster than need be for the way it was designed - i surely wouldn't need your assumption that this is too much plane for me, lol. i've flown before so that's for me to decide.

just don't put full throtle on take off you will destroy the plane .im useing brushless set up with 1350 mah lipo recomended by slough radio control shop . throtle managment is the key to this plane and the waight is important you may find that battery to heavy .
