Yup.

My prop reamer is one of my more indispensible tools. I use it a lot.

My review article on the Super Dimona is just about to hit the streets-- Sept 2006 (Vol 11-9) issue of Quiet Flyer. Check it out! (Yes, I liked it, and that's not the glossy pages talkin', either!) Fun plane, and still going strong after three months of hard flying.

I got Super Dimona from the other web store, it is www.a1rc.com . I believe it the same as Hobby Lobby or from same manufacturer. $160 free shipping. Great deal!!

This is a really odd question, but I just ordered a Dimona from HL:
I'm considering putting it on floats. I fly 2.4Ghz and generally fly near a large lake.
Most of my e-planes are .15e sized, tail draggers, and can take a little abuse from an uneven/rough surface.
I'm running the equavalent of the 2810/10 outrunner... And I know floats will impact thermal ability, but does this ship have enough power to fly off water?

I am getting ready to start the build on the Dimona.
And the question I have is this , Has anyone converted the plane over to the tail dragger version ??
If so please let me know where the gear came out at.
I just can't bring myself to make this plane a trike gear

Also Has anyone had a chance to thermal there Dimona ???? How well did she do..

Thanks for the help !

I converted mine to tail dragger, it resolves a lot of the issues with the front gear.
There is a decent how-to thread over on RCG on how to do it. Basically the forward gear is moved up in front of the servo tray. The fuse needs to be cut to do this. It's mounted in the same manner as the original gear, using the same hardware.

Thanks for the reply.
I looked on RCG and never did see the post, Hmmm.
I'll take another look.

Do you have any photos of the mod you did that you can post here or E-mail to me ?

Thanks a bunch for the help !

Try this - it's a full review and several pages, including details on a tail dragger conversion:

If you have a slight aeleron warp and / or too still CA hinges I suggest eliminating the two center CA hinges and leave the others in place. Then.. install a strip of iron on gapless hinge material between the outer CA hinges. This will tend to pull in the warp, make the throw more flexible and eliminate a lot of unwanted gap.

I like this plane, especially as a tail dragger. Nice job on the mod. Did you leave the old gear holes in case you wanted to switch back or cover them up.
