Battery AMP Setting / Challenger has NO POWER
I'm super confused with this whole AMP setting thing. I just borrowed a buddie's Aerobird Challenger that he has only flown once and charged the battery in my car for 1 hour at 1.2 AMPS and the plane runs for about 30 seconds then loses all power. It doesn't even have enough power to stay in the air. The car charger has a setting from .3 to 1.2 amps. Am I charging it wrong? Or am I not letting it charge for long enough because when I talked to him he said he only had to charge it for 45minutes and it flew for over 10 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The car charger #1 is junk. I went through 4 of them before I got one that works. Throw it away and buy a nice charger.
Also look at the outlet you are using, some have to have the car running to have power and use a cigarette lighter in it to make sure it works. It's possible the outlet doesn't work in you car.
Also watch the charger lights when you plug it in after a few minutes if the light goes out and says its charged thats what I had to go through until I got a charger that worked.
Also there may be something else going on in there and the battery is charged.

Well the light flashes or whatever the goes solid shortly after, I guess solid means it's charged. But the light never goes out...

It's not supposed to go out. It blinks constantly while charging and then glows steadily when finished. I don't think it's the charger if your friend got it to work. Something's screwed up though...
My charger works fine. I always charge on 1.2 amps and I normally get 12-14 minute flights. I guess you have to get lucky on those.

Flyingace your right it goes solid. Been so long since I used one of those, I always throw them out as soon as I open a box.
If it goes solid shortly after you plug it up
#1 it's charged or
#2 it won't charge

I went through the same problem. My Challenger charger gave out so I finally got a decent charger (Pirahna Digital Peak Charger) and now it works fine.
