Need help with electrifly C12 ESC
I am BRAND spankign new to rc planes.
I just bought the flatout ultimate combo from tower hobbies.
They gave me the futaba controller with the R114F receiver (4 channel)
and a Electrifly C12 micro esc
On the futaba intructions it tells me to plug the power supply into channel 4 (since the li-po pack runs through the ESC, I assume channel 4 is also the Left throttle stick)
However I cannot get the ESC to "beep" or the motor to respond in the channel 4 slot (or channel 3 as well)
When I try to plug it in channel 1 or 2 it beeps and I can set up the ESC (however they are on the right side stick and that is no good!)
When I plug servos in channel 3 or 4 they respond fine, so it is not the receiver jacks.
Can anyone give me any info that may help?
I should have stayed with my 2 channel cars!

No channel 4 is rudder on all rx no matter the brand. Futaba throttle is channel 3. You'll want to plug your esc into channel 3. You need to reverse your throttle channel.

AHH!
I spoke too soon!
Now I cant get my rudder to respond (channel 4)
The servo is fine, it even "jumps" when you first plug it into the receiver but after that no repsonse from the stick.
Channel 1 and 2 servos respond and my motor (channel 3) is fine now.
I even swapped servos and same result
Any ideas ?

It sounds like a transmitter problem. Because it is brand new, I would talk to Tower about it. If you have a buddy or a LHS that could try a different transmitter, it might isolate the problem.
