Help! Motor keeps quiting
I'm new to electrics and I keep having a problem with my motor. It quits after a few minutes of flight if I have it at half throttle, but then after a minute, it'll start up again. Also, if I throttle all the way up on the ground while holding it, it'll quit after 15-20 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.
My configuration is as follows...
Eflight Yak 54
Motor: Eflight Park 400 Outrunner
Prop: 11X4.7E APC
Speed controller: Thunderbird 18 Brushless controller, 18 amps continuous
Battery: Thunderpower 1350 mah
Thanks for the help,
Tom

RE: Help! Motor keeps quiting
Sounds to me like you are over amping and over heating the esc. I would try a CC 25 amp esc or try proping down a notch. Maybe a 10x4.7.
If the esc overheats it will shut down to protect itself.

RE: Help! Motor keeps quiting
You might be drawing more current than the battery can handle. This would cause the battery voltage to drop to the point where the ESC's low voltage cutoff (LVC) cuts power to the motor, as it is designed to do.
You need to check your battery voltage under load to see if it drops below the LVC point.
