RE: antenna question
thanks one more thing, if the length will effect the range, will a larger gauge wire negativly effect it also, the reason im askin is my antenna was cought in the prop and tore into 3 peices and i cant find any wire ov the same gauge so i bought slightly thicker wire.

RE: antenna question
This has been a widely debated and talked about issue and the R.F. super geeks have all concluded that you need to make sure you retain the original length of the Rx's anternna and wire diameter had little to do with it. Diameter of the wire going from 28 to 26 guage is not going to do affect you. I have been replacing the flimsy, plastic coated antenna wires with stainless guitar strings and piano wire for 10+ years to streamline the antenna going out the back of small planes; fast pylon ships to park fliers. The only issue is to avoid letting a bare metal antenna come in contact with a metal pushrod.

RE: antenna question
I really like the MAP loaded antennas for small models. I attach them inside the bird with a tiewrap. No worries about cutting, dragging etc. Have never had any problems using them even on small Helis.
