RE: GWS p-51 power setup
ALL of the GWS war birds fly great with a HiMaxx 2812-1080 outrunner direct drive and a 1500 to 1800mah 12 to 15c LiPo swinging an APC 8X6e prop. I have the Me-109, Corsair & Tigermoth 400 with this system. My Mustang is using the 2816-1220 outrunner but it's over kill and would fly fine with the other motor. Good luck.

RE: GWS p-51 power setup
you can also go a cheaper route and go with the BP-21 on a GWS 8040 prop. Performance is very good with that setup and BPHobbies.com sells the BP-21 with a Castle Creations ThunderBird 18 speed controller for under $50 shipped. It's a great deal and the power setup is perfect for the GWS warbirds.
It won't be as fast as the himax setup above but for a cost efficient power system it's great. I get around 12-15 minutes of flight with a 1300mAh 11.1v lipo.
