Default Motor/battery overheating

I'm new to the whole electric plane thing but my speed pilot has a 380 electric motor. I noticed that the motor and battery pack get extremelly hot when the motor is on. Is this normal? I know that the motor will get hot but should the battery pack get hot too?

You may have too much prop on the plane. Please provide # of batteries, size of batteries, pitch and diameter pf prop as well as manufacturer.
And the plane name.

Hot batteries and motor usually result in a short item life.
