Brio 10 set up
"Hello" all electric plane enthusiasts. After flying Glow for a while ,I have decided to try electric ,and soon found out it is a whole new learning curve. I purchased a Brio 10 withe intention of installing the E- Flight 10 Brushless and the Jeti 40 Amp speed controllerand H55 Servo's. The Motor was not available or the speed controler,so I opted to purchase an AxI 2814/10 and a Pheonix 35 Amp speed controller. My Question is ,will the motor be capable of the same 3D as the E-Flight 10 and should I have gotten a bigger Amp Speed contoller. I would appreciate any direction to further resouses and material to figure all this stuff out. PS What about prop sizes would a 9 X 6 be all right for the Axi. Looking forward to any Feedback.

RE: Brio 10 set up
Hello Jake
It seems to me that
* EFLM4010A (E-Flite 10) is 122 grams Kv 1100rpm/V Rm 43 mohm
* AXI 2814/10 Gold is 106g Kv 1640 rpm/V Rm 37 mohm
Not the same category of speed
AXI is hotter and needs a lower diam prop
AXI 2814/16 is closer with Kv 1035 rpm/V but Rm 85 mohm is higher
, so the summit of the curve Efficiency versus Current is not for the same current
Brushless 122g is slightly more powerful than a 106 g
I have one AXI 2814/12 I have measured Io no load and Rm, Max efficiency is very good close to 85%
AXI are famous czech brushless, good quality
Have a look on the french site http://electrofly.free.fr
Search top icon "telechargements"
then "moteurs"
There are 2 EXCEL data base(inrunners and Outrunners)
and one freeware MM_Calc(in english)
You can download and unzip

RE: Brio 10 set up
Yes, definitely not 3D capable, either with the /10. The propeller will stall out in slow speed maneuvers.
A tip for choosing alternative motors: Look for a motor with similar dimensions and Kv ratings to the recommended one.
The Power 10 has a Kv of 1100 RPM/Volt, weighs 122 grams, is 35mm in diameter and 43mm in length. In AXi terms, the 2814 series is a good match size-wise, and the 2814/16 is pretty close in specs overall compared to the Power 10. It's a little lighter, and a little bit lower Kv, but should do the job just fine.

I´d like to put a ALIGN 450L on my Brio 10. What do you think? Its a good choice? What ESC and propeller do you recomend?
Thanks
