Default speed control

I wanted to know if you could use a basic 20amp speed control with a brushless 4100kz mortor?

Is it a brushless ESC?? If it is a standard brushed, it will only have two wires going to the motor, brushless motors require 3 wires.

You mean it's a brushed ESC? You might want to let us know what kind of motor it is too, or at least how much it weighs so we'll have a better idea of what to recommend.

That motor is rated at 8 AMPs continous, 13 Amps MAX, so the E-flite V2 20 AMP brushless controller SHOULD be a plug and play controller (no soldering except for maybe the battery connector). It looks like they connect with 3.5mm bullet connectors, male on the motor, female on the ESC. Ask the vendor before you purchase though as specs change without notice.

Other ESCs would work too, (Castle Creations Thunderbird 18 or other imported brands), but if you go with name brand, it's easier to ask for help and get service if you are having trouble setting it up.
