Default Upgrades for F-27B Stryker

i dont no much about planes, but other than the batteries, motor, and esc, and servos, is that all you can upgrade, and if i were to upgrade, what would you suggest for around $60 bucks or slightly more.

Hmm, there isn't a whole lot you can do for $60. The best bang for the buck is a brushless motor and ESC combo to upgrade the plane to F27C specifications, but that'll run at least $100.

For $60 I would purchase the Lipo upgrade battery. you'll get much longer flight times and better performance. You don'thave to monky around with re-wing the entire unit either

the Lipo upgrade is probably the best for your budget. If you already have some 3s 2100 mAh lipos and a charger around, then your upgrade would be free. But, I'm guessing you don't. A decent lipo charger will help you out a ton as you travel the RC road.

The only issue I would have with the LiPoly upgrade is that it will seriously shorten the life of the stock motor. Sure, you'll have plenty of power and longer flights, but the motor is being pushed over its limits, so depending on how many flights your stock motor has, you may be in the market for a new motor in short order.

I agree with Matt, the motor will go but at around $16 for a replacement, you'll have a bunch of fun for only a few bucks

Replacement motors are dirt cheap and only cost $10.44. All you have to do is unplug the old motor, and plug in and mount the new one and you're good to go for another 50+ flights. My stock motor on stock batteries has had over a year of service, and it hasn't given out yet. So with lipos you could at least expect about 100 battery cycles to go through it. That means you get at the least 25 hours of flight time. Doesn't seem to be too short, but still shorter than stock.

I fly my Stryker 27B with a 3S 11.1v lipo about 3 times a week, sometimes more. After about 4 to 5 months, I start noticing a decline in power so I replace the motor then. Since motors are so inexpensive, I don't mind the shorten life using lipo's.
