Default Balsa/Ply Warbird

I am looking for a nice balsa/ply warbird kit, around a 42" wingspan max. I would prefer an ARF that already has the Ultracote on it, not something I have to iron on. Anyone know of one?

I recently bought an extra 330 model from peakmodel.com and was actually very impressed with the quality... I didn't know what to expect from a 50 dollar arf....

Haven't flown it yet due to the onset of winter but the construction looks to me as good as any other i've seen... they offer some warbirds but again I have no history with them to pass on first hand

Those are just a little big. I am trying to find something at or under 3 lbs. I want to use my 3 cell 11.1 volt 2100mah LiPo's with it. I don't want to buy all new batteries for one plane.

I found a couple gas ones that could be converted, but somehow they are belly landers, no gear.

Try AK-Models. They have some smaller warbirds. What you are looking for as far as size, covering and landing gear under 3lbs that can fly with a 3s2100 cell is gonna be tough.

Look at the Hyperion P-51. A bit pricy, but sounds like it's in your ballpark. Good luck.Rick
