Question about chargers
Well i am (finaly) getting into this awsome hobby! i have a avistar trainer ect (glow) but i would REALY love to get into electrics ASAP, i do like the glow powered models but i want to fly the smaller foamys and parkflyers.
Well, i will of course need a good charger! i do not want to spend alot of money (no more then 150 bucks, less is better since i am only 16)
my requirements are...
nicd/nmhd/lipo compatible
i would verry much perfer it to operate off A/C power!
able to charge 3 cell lipos or more, and 8-10+ nicd/nmhd (and discharge)
Again, i will only be flying parkflyers and (eventualy) the litle 3d planes!
I am considering the hobbico accu-cycle ($130 tower hobbies) [link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYD4&P=0[/link]
If you have had good/bad experiance with this charger please let me know! Many thanks!

RE: Question about chargers
I have no experience with the Hobbico. But most chargers work well, just take care not to buy a too small charger. If you are sure you won`t buy more than 3S LiPoes then it will do the job for you.
Remember that it is recommended to use a balancer when charging LiPoes. If the charger don`t have balancing abilities you will get an external balancer for most brands, but usually you cant swap balancers between brands.
Don`t know the price in US, but take a look at Bantam BC6 and Advance AC/DC if you find them in any webshop or at any dealer. They are able to charge some more cells, but might be too expensive...?

RE: Question about chargers
The BC-6 is an excellent charger. There will be a upcoming review in the July issue of Model Aviation Magazine. The e-Station BC-8 was reviewed in May issue (current issue). If you have any questions, please let me know.

RE: Question about chargers
I have had the hobbico accucyle for almost two years and it works great.
I fly almost every day, so it has had a good workout all this time and continues to work great.
Having both AC and DC capabilities is a big plus.
