RE: li poly on stock stryker
NO- The styker-B with stock brushed motor on a 3s lipo draws 14-16 amps, thats more than that lipo can handle
The styker-c with the brushless motor will draw around 20 amps, way more than that lipo can handle.
If you want to use a 3 cell lipo in a styker, it will have to handle between 20 to 30 amps or more. I say more, because you don't want to stress a lipo by using it at its maximum rating.

Your wouldn't fry your Stryker, you'd fry the batteries. 10C discharge on a 1250mAh battery is 12.5 amps. With the amps that BgCatfish1 has stated, you would be stressing the batteries too hard.

If you already have the batteries, I would go ahead and use them. They will probably tolerate more than 10C burst rate. At worst you will just shorten the cycle life of the Lipos.

RE: li poly on stock stryker
Mark- I wouldn't steer you wrong. I have built many strykers, well planes for that matter, and I can assure you if you are setup to draw more amps than the lipo can handle, it will be a very short life on the battery.
I do know common sense tests their own lipo's and states only what they do. I own several of them.
Go over to the stryker thread the- way past the limits, and ask those guys how many amps they are drawing and if your lipo will be ok. I already know this answer.
Keep in mind I am not trying to sell you anything, just telling you what I know by testing with watt meters. Hate to see that lipo swell up.
Another idea is to call Parkzone back and ask them if a 12.5 amp lipo is ok for the stryker- I would say you will get a different answer.
Good luck.

RE: li poly on stock stryker
hey
i have a stock stryker b, and it seems really slow and under powered. does just upgrading to a lipo pack help that much with speed or anything?! or is it even worth upgrading when i can go buy a stryker c for 150 more dollars than the batteries?

The brushed can motors on the stryker-B will wear out at a good rate, especially if you push them hard. When this happens, you start to lose speed and flying ability.
But- the good side to this is- the motors are only $9.00
Yes, using a lipo on the Stryker B will double your speed and ability. It's an awesome upgrade. However, look again at the sentence above.
The Stryker C has a brushless motor-meaning it does not have the brushes inside the can that wear out. This is one of the better things about brushless motors, with care they will last a very long time.
Also to boot- the C uses a 3 cell lipo.

RE: li poly on stock stryker
so if i buy a lipo pack for my stryker with a brushed motor, to get the best performance, i would probable only need to replace the motor? or does the esc, or servos go bad too?

Everything goes bad at some point. I have found though, that the Parkzone 5 wire servos go bad quick and strip easy. Nothing lasts forever.
