Default TIMING

Hey there guys,

Here we go again, trying to get my head around something new ... was bench testing a new electric motor whislt in plane ... tried a 11.1v batt to start with, all was good but seemed to drain to fast. Then tried an 14.8v batt ... was increasing throttle ... getting close to max then it was like a major unbalanced prop situation... shut it down immediately ... was too late pulled screws through one side of the motor cage. ,repaired the damage and tried another prop ... got to about the same rpm and again BANG ... more damage to repair. not wanting to do any more damage, spoke to a local who has a bit of experience with EP flight ... he said it may have something to do with TIMING. Motor is rated at 540 watt running a 60 amp ESC ... as far as i can tell ESC is set at low timing (2pole) is something drastically wrong or should i reset the timing? If you can help or need more information to answer this question please let me know

any help is greatly appreciated,

regards,

Dean.

Default RE: TIMING

Which motor, and which propeller?
If your motor is a two pole inrunner the timing has to be low.
Maybe your system get into surge, because of overload? The propeller at 4S LiPo should be smaller than the recommended propeller for 3S! Do you know the amperes?
