interference noise from GWS naro servo
My newly assembled ehawk 1500 suffer from severe servo glitch in range test beyond 50 meter . After several cross-check (see below if you are interested) , it is the servo which generated noise and reduce the receiver range . Although I have 2 planes using GWS servo which run good so far , the big difference in this case is 4 servos (fig.1) are used when compare with 2 servos in previous case. Also the antenna is relatively more close to the servo in ehawk.
Disassembly the servo (fig.2, fig.3) shown that no capacitor is installed on motor lead to reduce brush-motor noise ( I believe this is common practice in RC servo design). I try to add two 2.2nF (222) capacitor on each motor for the four servo (fig.4, fig.5 ) . After this modification, the plane control turns OK in 200 meter range test.
Cross-check data:
Test setup: TX : JR Quattro, antenna fully extend,
Rx : GWS R8MSL+, antenna without coiling and extent outside the carbon boom
BLESC: JC aero-W30A
servo: GWS naro, HP/STD
motor: Thunder Tiger OBL29/09-07A
procedure and result:
1) BLESC is replaced by 4.8V battery pack > range test and servo glitch persist
2) GWS receiver R8MSL+ replaced by JR-R700 -> do no improvement
3) reducing servo number from 4 to 2 > control range improved
4) ........unfortunately I don't have other brand servo on hand to verify
