Default What size motor would be good?

A friend of mine has a Butterfly...
That's a 99" span, 900 square inch area, 3 pound (with wet power), motor glider.

What would be a decent combination for the Butterfly using inexpensive motor/gearbox/speed control?

--Added: the plane's description recemmends a .15 size 2-stroke glow engine.

Thanks !

Without running any numbers through MotoCalc.... A cheep fairly good setup would be a geared speed 500 from Hobby-Lobby, or even a speed 600. You will be running a 12" or larger prop, so ground clearance may be a problem. An Astro 05 would be a next good choice, but will cost a few more $$$, and almost as much as a brushless controller.
I have used their Jeti Speed controls with very good results. Castle Creation also makes good controllers but are a bit more expensize.

Great Planes has an e-set up that will work well..their e-power package, motor controler, gearbox will be ok.

Hobby lobby has complete set ups also that are inexpensive and will work well, any speed 600 combo will be ok.

If you are considering staying with e-flight please do the math and seriously consider the new jeti or mega
brushless systems..More usable power using less amps AND no gearbox needed, nor maintanance.

Hobby lobby has the jeti systems and the 15/4 with 8 cells will be a great reliable power source you will never regret having.

Have fun...
