Default Different connector types question (for power/esc/chrgr)

Hi ALL
Whats the advantage of deans over APP? Any Amps rating? I feel deans in more easy since its one
shot in and out... Its smaller than APP so it can fit in small battery bay /areas...what else?.

Whats deans and whats deans ultra?

Also when does one use the white connector (usually seen in nimh packs) one which has to be squeezed
in middle so it can open and when released it can 'lock' with the female/male part?

Can someone explain these 3-and when to use where?

Thanks

Deans has a small edge on size, other than that, on every other count they are inferior to APP.

When someone says "Deans," they usually mean "Deans Ultras." But Deans also makes a smaller connector called "Deans Micro." The Deans Micros are OK for up to about 12-15A.

Deans Ultra

Deans Micro

The white connector you refer to is a Kyosho or Tamiya (standard) battery connector. I believe the current rating on those is less than the Deans Ultra connectors, which is why most newer high-currrent, brushless RC models and batt packs seem to be going with the Deans Ultra connector. The Tamiya is the "standard" battery connector, on the right in the photo below, and it mates with the Kyosho connector on the left.
