HOBBYCITY SUCKS (HONGKONG)
Hi,
I ordered a gyro and an ESC at Hobbycity (Hobby king hong-kong) on january 26, and today febuary 3, the order is still in process (9 days !) not shipped yet.
Ok, it's Chinese new year, they are probably short handed, but they should have told the customers that they would be delais.
I am not in a rush for that order but some others may be and would have place the order somewhere else.
I'm just disapointed.

Thanks,
I did not see any anoncements anywhere, the could have send automated emails....
It's not a big deal form me on that order, but they sure need to improve communication.

Your rush to judgment was unfair! Like any vendor there will be times that they are slow or out of stock or their product may not live up to expectations. My personal experience with Hobby City's customer service and product quality has been excellent.

Ok, my link to Hobby City does go on the main page, I'll just blame on my wife when she comes back from work (she is Asian, so a little bit responsible, right ?).
Still they should have send an email atfer receiving my order...;o)

Make sure all of your order is in stock. HL does not ship partial orders. I ordered about 30 different items just before X-mass, the order sat 2 weeks with no movement. I checked out my order only to find a $1.09 part was not in stock. I canceled that item my order was processed that day............. Shipment arrived in 6 days. Good Luck, hdpartman

Complain complain complain ... that is all we hear. For your information CNY is a big thing and China shuts down for like a whole week or more, not to forget they will be rushing out all other orders too. If you are so unhappy then buy from the LHS, you get it as you pass those stacks of dollars over the counter. I think they should have called you when they received your order.

Haba ... Its true we need to also support the LHS, if not they will fold. I know the Asian thing is not meant to be an insult ... I was subtly referring to the fact that his wife is Asian too. If she reads this then he will have his eggs extra salty ... coffee extra sweet and his toast extra crispy! :P

Hobby City has great prices but if you have a product problem, getting warranty support is a big problem. They expect you to ship the bad part back first. The shipping can be pretty steep and you pay the shipping to them.
I received a defective motor from them recently. Rather than return it, I threw it out and bought one locally. It cost more but it worked perfectly and if it did not, a warranty exchange would have been quick and easy.
This is not a knock on Hobby City, just a fact of life when you deal with a supplier on the other side of the world.

alexandre,
Wow, my order from Cox in Colorado took 3 weeks, and you're complaining someone on the other side of the planet
is taking longer than a whole week? Wow, give it some time.

RE: HOBBYCITY SUCKS (HONGKONG)
this is why i'm afraid to mail order anymore and i have been avid mail ordering since 1983,. i just received a model that was sent with two of the same parts.its supposed to have a right and left and i got two right side pieces and it cannot be made to work on the left side. now i find out they have no spare parts in stock for this model. its crazy anymore. i think my mail order days are coming to a halt for now.

My experiences so far with HC has been great, its the same for another 3-4 guys at my field who have made many repeated orders from HC. Guess, sometimes there will be glitches and its most unfortunate. Of course if you get a lemon then its a pain to have to bare the cost of shipping the defective product back to HC.
Haba ... Asian is in now huh? Hahahahaa ...

By looking in the lower left hand corner, you may note that I live in Oklahoma...not that much closer than Florida, but I did use the Express Service. I will mention that, after receiving my order, I noticed HC had absorbed $10 of the shipping cost.

That's a pretty broad statement! Yes, Hobby King is located in Hong Kong and how can you be critical of a vendor that has to ship his products half way around the world and has to work around local holidays. It does take a little longer. Wait till our government screws up our postage infrastructure. It will be worse.
If you need it now, you should buy from your local hobby shop.
