Default Brush on insulation???

I remember seeing somewhere.. someplace.. a substance I could brush on to a solder joint. It was an insulator. It'd dry. and protect the joint.

But I've never seen it in stores..

I don't even know what to look for???

Anybody heard of such a thing? Any ideas where I can get some?

Thanks in advance,

Lyndon

It is called liquid electrical tape. You should be able to find it at your local hardware or auto supply store.

anyone know how well this works. Will it take the place of shrink tubing?

Here is a specific one: Perfomix Liquid Electrical Tape http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=36821

It works!

Shrink wrap is better, IMO, but if you can't get a piece of shrink wrap where you need it, then the liquid electrical tape will do in a pinch.

The stuff works great! Make sure to put several coats on, letting it dry between coats. Not sure on the brand I use but it comes in red, black and blue. I prefer it over shrink tubing, but most of my electrics are foam, and I hate to see what heat does to them.
