Hi,
Does anyone know about this plane? What about GP Electricub? I want something nice and slow (begginer here!)
Also, I'm finishing a 2m sailplane (GP Spirit) and I was wondering if anyone have experienced those GP electric power pods that Tower Hobbies sells (Direct drive, speed 500). Would it deliver enough power?
thanks

cessna
hey there...the cessna is a good start to electrics...its fairly slow, easy to control, and wind freindly....depending on how big you want to get, the hobbico superstar EP is another good choice...pretty cheap and includes the radio!.....there are sooo many trainer possibilities out there...it can drive you crazy...but stick with high-wing,3 channel trainers with a flat bottom airfoil....they tend to right themselfs!!hope that helps

Thank you, Quietflyer, for your prompt reply,
I was just wondering if the included motor and recommended battery are sufficient for a nice flight. I heard it is quite far from ideal, is that true? Have you seem one of these really flying?

Hello....the motor and battery setup on this plane is OK...its not the most powerfull trainer out there by far..but again a trainer is not supposta be that powerfull....the included setup for the cessna is more than enough for you to get the feel of flying an RC plane. You should get very comfortable with a plane of this type b4 moving up to any type of acrobatic,low-wing l plane!..hope that helps you-Jordan

I found the stock motor prop combo on the Cessna to be a bit under powered, though that may be because I live at 7000' elevation.
I think with a 7 or 8 cell batt pack it'd be fine.
1 more thing, the Cessna looks great on fly-by's.
Good luck
Jason

I was so sad to notice that Tower Hobbies no longer sells this plane.... Why would that be so, it seems such a nice one!
Hope other dealers still sell it...
Do you think the 7-8 cell battery would fit the battery hatch on its bottom?
