Motor and prop for Electric Piper Cub?
I just found a Piper Cub for speed 550. It's balsa and film covering.
The specs are: Wing span 54in, wing area 440 sq in. The weight before assembly is 550gm (19oz). I aim to keep the all up weight (with a 7 cell 1800 nicd to about 40oz), thus giving a wing loading of about 13oz/sq ft.
At the moment, I have a Cobalt 480 motor with 2:1 gearbox. Will this do the job? Alternatively, I am planning on a Jeti 15/3.
Can someone recommend the appropriate prop size and gear ratio?
Thanks,
Chris
