Default Computer fans

I was wondering as to if (or not) anyone has converted one of the cheapies or near free electric fans that are found inside a comupter power supply or on a CPU in to a EDF unit? I got numerous of these around here, most all dead in one way, and would like to try adding on a common brushless electric motor in front and getting some boost out. Enough that I then can power a few of my 1950's era jets.

Does the fan unit put out enough air thrust, at higher RPM's or just not enough?

My guess is that they are not built to stand the high rpms required by an EDF unit. Since you have a number of them, why not do the "modeler thing" and try it out?

I got a message from one fellow who said they would not take the RPMs due to normally running slower than full on electric. Thus they vibrate too much.
