Hey Ken!

I got mine and I used a backhanded toss due to shoulder problems myself:

This is the second batch of flights with a special guest that showed up after John and I started getting the hang of it. We went out and did some more today and I even tried some launches that matched its name with pretty good success!

Hi GBLynden!

Thanks for the really nice videos that you made. The Whipit looks like fun but the short flights leave me hankering for more time. I guess I'm spoiled. I suggested that a motor/prop from the UMX Radian would be a lot of fun and by carefully shifting the battery perhaps the CG wouldn't be off.

My wife and I just went to the National Soaring museum at Harris Hill in Elmira, NY. I really enjoyed those beautiful sailplanes but the weather was too cold to fly. The flying session is only July-August and the cost is $96 for a flight. A kind person who flies there unlocked the hanger and we got to see those beautiful birds. This man gave us a little aerodynamic lesson about the ASK glider he flies and was very kind to do all of this after we told him it was a 6 hour drive just to see them.

I told Ken Bartlett by email that i could easily modify the Whipit to accept the UMX Radian motor/gearing and I think I'll try that some day. Thanks again for the great video!

Ron

Hey Ron!

Thank you very much sir! I have heard of people thinking about adding model rocket motor engines to this plane too and flying it down. I just got into those, so that might be on my radar if/when I get bored of this plane. That might not be for a while though since I am have so much fun with it!

I am very curious to see how this would fly with the UMX Radian parts, so please keep us posted if you go that route.

Default UMX Radian difference in colors ?

I realize this is an old Thread. But, does anyone know the difference between the yellow UMX Radian vs. the red/orange UMX Radian ?
Lately, I’ve only seen the red/orange ones on the shelf not the yellow.
thanks.
