RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
I used a size "M" jack from Radio Shack on my tx. I travel alot so I'll probably put one on every TX I have. I have a wall adapter and a car adapter and I can use either one.
As for the bulging lipos, it might be because of the 3C charge rate from the TX. My son's lipo bulged and it was only charged with AA batteries. I'm beginning to think my 1C charge rate mod was a good idea, even if it does take 40 minutes to charge.

Chris, the standard charger is 2x/1C, or 7.4v. A 3C rate charge would be in the neighborhood of 3.7v 300mah+ or if the voltage is altered as well something like 7.4v 150mah. Reguardless that is a great way to blow up a battery. It's your gear, do what you want, but that make me nervous.

Tim,
What I'm saying is that I measured the current on a stock TX while charging the battery. The battery is getting a fairly constant 300mA with the voltage going up as it charges to 3.9V or so. That's a stock TX with AA batteries. I modified one to charge to 4.2V at 100mA but changed it back because I got tired of waiting for it to charge. I then modded it to charge to 4.2V. I think the first mod may have been better. The thing that's hard to explain is that the diode in the RX, charge connectors, and wiring drop less voltage at a lower current so the sensing circuit sees a lower voltage. This actually results in a higher final charge. All I did was remove R38.

Are you saying that you removed R38 to charge to 4.2v at 100ma? Or were there other changes you made to get that result. I would be very interested in doing the same mod. I don't care how long it takes to charge. I could make a bunch of these chargers and have enough planes to keep me flying non-stop. Not that I ever have enough time to fly more than 1 charge at a time - especially with the 200mah fully charged.

[&o]Fern, this happened when i was installing the light set,Doh,,,This happened cause of not properly covering the terminal's,when i set the exposed plane down i guess it touched the rx somewhere and made a bidge....wowser's bout a min later or so i started to hear a hissing sound, steam release sound, then the smell of well, nastyness.[X(] grrrr killed the 135 mah i bought from you.....batts all soft and mushy....I know,it scared the bajeesas outta me.... kinda outta focus but you can see the results....

Green1, my rule for soldering batteries is a little backwards, but I solder the Positive in place, tape it off and then solder the Hegative in place, tape it off, then tape of the entire battery top. That's just my habit. Another option would be to suspend each connection in hot glue. Not my option just bcause of the weight involved.
Chris, as I remember that has a nimh battery. Or it did when I last looked at it.
It's raining here so I finished of the funny tonight. Pic's to follow.

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
Let me know how it flies and if it needs alot of room. I guess you ordered all the parts to build it from Tower. I would need a receiver for DX7. Do you have your order list? Does it seem like it can take a hit? How come you call this a slow stick? Is it? Alway looking for a nice plane.Ron

Ron, I bought the hitec flight pack that has the micro os-55 rx and 3 hs-55 servos. An electrifly c-25 brushed esc, good for lipos or nimh and a pack of props. I have a cermark 2s1500mah battery that will go into the footwell of the plane. I have not maidened it yet. I maidened my replacement cessna today. I'll post on that on the proper thread.

I'm in Australia and I can't seem to find this plane for sale anywere. I REALLY WANT IT. Is there anyone els in these forums that could buy one and send it to me with C.O.D via Australia post, I will pay for the item (as long as you don't get riped off), postage & COD charge.
Thanks, Josh

Josh, the plane is called the silverlit x-twin mini-biplane. It seems like Sama has a store that had them. He's in oz. They are only called aeroace in the US and Canada. Let me know if this helps.

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
After burning out a light on the light set,i found these 1.5mm leds. Was hoping it would work with the resistorforgive the sloppy soildering cant see it when installed anyway. Replaced the wire with wrapping wire.hoping to save weightregular light set is hitched to the 200 mah,the other hacked one is on the 135 mah
