Tim, have you put the starscream guts in anything yet? Just wondering what they work best in?

I just put the starscream guts in a homemade x-02(ace combat fictional fighter jet) with JETscream motors (with reguler props insted of the edf- they are 7mm coreless...they are extremely powerful.)and it has infinite vertical...this thing can hover!
the guts will be good for gliders or fast planes...not indoor or slow.

OMG, Here is my first real venture with the starscream http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_HxLBigpug It was better than any other micro flite. I had a constant grin on. Dont worry the car didnt hit it, but he stoped and watched for a few min then I told him where and how much and he peeled out for RS

Aircraft, that led is just a led light from a fishing bobber, its at wal-mart for 3 bucks, 20 hrs batt life with on/off, mine is just hot glued on the front. Im working on a new set of blue and red flashing for the wing tips. Might have it done tommarow.

Get them fast. I just got mine. I went to one of my local RS stores. They didn't have it, but they found one for me several miles away. There were only 3 in the district. I am not sure what a district is. I was hoping to grab maybe 3, but apparently the clearance price is working.

I took the plane out for a quick spin at lunch. it was way too windy to be flying, but I can tell this one is going to be fun. It is very fast and has one motor at a time turning with no trottle, so it possible to trow it into a dive or a spin.

Picked up 2 starscreams and waiting for the rain to stop. This rain on the east coast is nuts. Not only can't I fly but local baseball games are not being played. I did fly 3 packs with my Bug earlier today but for now FORGEDABOUTIT!

Funny. The Source, (a Circuit City chain) who took over the radio shack stores in canada, has it listed in their current flyer at an "introductory price" of $34.95, soon to be $49.95.

Is there a thread somewhere in these forums on Air Hog mods? I had bought an AA but my wife destroyed it so I was thinking about getting another and mounting the two other motors on it for four. I was wondering if anyone else had done it, if there was any point to do it on these models and which models, if any, have these mods been put to.

darkdeacon, there are 2 ways to do this, i think the easiest is to get another plane on the same channle as your broken one, take the rx,batt, and motors offand install it on the new plane. I did this with a broken b ch bipe and taped the batt on one side and the rx on the other side of my power hawk, charge both sets up, turn on and have fun. it made it pretty fast and sounded cool. I know ive heard of ppl soldering on the motors to th rx but im not sure how one batt would handle it.

I got my mini PBF with starscream guts flying great, Im out of town but will post vid when i get home.

BTW, here is what ive found on the iron man plane, epp foam. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=864007

JUST A HEADS UP GUYS!!!!!
Just got back fom the local TARGET and ALL AERO ACES are $19.99 including the Sport Plane. I tried to see if the girl would give me the FURY at that price too but no deal. Worth a try though. Picked up a couple of Bi-planes and a sport plane for my arsenal. Got cool plans which i will share with you guys as soon as i finish. Haven't seen this version made yet. Will post picks soon.

HELP!!!!!
I got out my Aero Ace for the first flight this summer. I cannot get it to charge? I cannot get the green charge light to come on at all, tried everything?? I was messing with the plane and had the power on it, all the suddend one motor started running, then both for a brief second, then they both stopped. Now I got nothing. I get a nice green power light lit up on the controller when I turn it on but that is about it!!
Any suggestions????

It could be the batteries in the t/x. They could be depleted after the winter and no longer able to charge the lipo, but can still powere the green LED.

Question for the experts.

I disected a brand new powerhawk to put the gear in an airframe that I built myself. As I was aranging things, the antena somehow broke off where it wraps around that little plastic anchor thing that is part of the black plastic case that holds the r/x. I figured no big deal and soldered on a piece of wire about 2x as long as the original to the 1 cm or so that was left of the wire. When I took the plane out to fly, I found that I only get maybe 20 meters of range or less. Any ideas about what I did wrong? Does the antenna have to be copper? The wire I used was some silver colored wire that I got from Radio Shack and have been using successfully for all types of other electronics. Is the antenna wire insulated? If so, would that just burn off when soldering or do I have to do something different?

By the way, this new plane is, except for the short range, awesome. It is the Pilatus 4 from the AA toolbox scaled up 150% for a wingspan of 42 inches. I wondered whether the AA gear could push such a large frame, but even after adding quite a bit of weight to balance it, it climbs on the second throttle setting. Its very stable and floats on a light breeze. I'll get some photos and maybe a video up soon.
