Andrew

I am wondering what length horns you are using for the elevators and ailerons? also what type?

Thanks
Jon

For cg I would go with the cg right at the back of the wingtube and adjust from there to your liking.

For the horns I'm using the dubro HD arms for futaba, for the ailerons I run the longest arm set on the 2nd hole from the top which gives me all the throw I need. On the elevator I run the elevator run about .75 which will give you all the throw that's necessary.

Hi Jonathan,

You should get some good 3D type throws with those servo arms....[&:]

I'd be using shorter arms.

Cheers,
Jason.

JAson, Hi man !!!....

In our last version spark we were using the short arms also, nevertheless, Jonathan (my son and pilot) he was always insisting that for the snaps he needed more authority, therefore playing with the exponential ones was not managing to achieve the effect.
We are going to try with these and I will comment to you on the experience, simply ( I know, it´s much)I have increased in 7 mm the distance with regard to the used one previously.

... and how the children become very heavy, and in particular when it treats about the pilots, it is better to do and to have to listen to complaints, murmurs, and other things....he heh hehe hehe eh !!!![>:]

G'day Andres,

I suppose Jonathan will have to try it to see how it feels.

I'd be worried about the resolution reduction on the ailerons. It's also going to reduce the torque applied to the surface although the BLS servos have plenty of torque.

I know what you mean about reducing the expo for snaps. It makes it all happen much quicker that's for sure..

Cheers,
Jason.

Today was the debut day ... to tell the veterans of the F3A what it means to configure and set a new plane ... well, too ... new kind of engine , new servos with better feel ,and the SPARK Evolution 1 really is another plane, has nothing to do with its previous version.
To avoid a long history... 10 flights, approximately 28 landings and takeoffs and one table P-11 as a summary of the day ....
Result ? : successful .... the Q80 far from being a beast on the contrary .... manageable power, consumption that do not exceed 2180 mA in a table P-11 (calm day) and substantially very quiet, apart from having "character"when rounding a figure ....
The plane, high noble, well-balanced speed and low speed very well behaved. Inefficiency of ailerons in Snap figure , very good performance rudder and elevators effective.
The GC has a lot of work to find .... at last it seems that the point is ... excellent performance in the integration of the figure "M", easy to handle soft and nice tonels... decrease speed is possible....
I leave any photo of the day and probably tomorrow a trailer video.

Greetings

About it completely if, it was our big question ... but visually it is fantastic ...
In flght, the wing and elevator tips in white colours make a great contrast to how far you can instantly see very clearly.

cheers

Andres,

Congrats on flying the model!! From the short video and the write up you have it seems like you have a very well setup plane that will take a little getting use to for flying. I'm hoping to be home within a week and can report back on flying my model. The fortunate side of being on the road in Yuma Az was I was able to take my Spark Dynamic with me and get some really good flying in.

As a side note I have been asked by Krill models to help distribute Krill Models in the US. So if anyone is out in Pattern/IMAC land and are interested in getting a spark Dynamic or Evo email me at
[email protected] and I will get you a quote. The latest news I got from Ivo was the airplanes took about 3 weeks to process and ship from the factory.

Yes I feel very lucky to be out here flying. This weekend I went over to Phoenix to get some pattern flying in with a few pattern pilots and it was a great weekend. I think I got 16 flights in the 2 days it was great.

Hi Andrew !!!..
For us it is very important your opinion and our set up part of what you've described in this thread.

Have been few test flights, however we managed to find the correct CG, 50 mm behind of cabon wing tube.
The snaps very slow ... we need to change the aileron link assembly as shown in the PDF.In our opinion the aileron surface is short, but is good for slow rolls...you know, each pilot have different feels !!!...
So far we can only provide this information, as we expand by test data to share and wait your advice.

cheers !!!
